Venice

Venice and its lagoon is a scenario absolutely unique in the world. It has been known as “City of Water”, as the whole city is built on an archipelago of 118 islands intersected by 150 canals and connected by more than 400 bridges.

What to see in Venice:
Founded in the 5th AD and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Venice and its lagoon is an inestimable treasure of art and culture, landscape and environment.

Among all the landmark places to visit in Venice, how to not mention St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, which is a real masterpiece of art and refined architecture, and the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, the Ca’ d’Oro, the Rialto Bridge and the main waterway Grand Canal, as well as countless art galleries and museums to see.

In Venice, another thing cannot be missed is the festival. The city hosts traditional cultural events like the Biennale – a festival of art, music, dance and theatre – the symphonic season of the Theatre La Fenice, the Historical Regata, the Festa del Redentore and, of course, the famous Carnival.

Venice is so romantic, with a poignant love-hate relationship with the sea, which is the source of its beauty, but at the same time the cause of lots of difficulties to its people who is living in it, especially when the sea swells and invades the squares and streets of the city.
